FIVE CALVIÀ POLICE OFFICERS WILL COMPETE IN PADDLE TENNIS IN THE EUROPEAN POLICE AND FIRE GAMES

Five members of the Calvià Local Police will travel next week to Torrevieja (Alicante) to participate in the Police and Fire Games, an annual competition where, thanks to sport, there is an exchange of experiences between police officers, firefighters and members of other European security forces.

Three women (38, 47 and 59 years old) and two men (39 and 42 years old) are the five Calvià Local Police officers who will participate in the racket sport games, specifically paddle tennis, whether in the men's, women's or mixed category from Thursday 5th to Saturday 7th October.

The European Police and Fire Games plan to organise 120 sporting events in almost 50 disciplines. It should be noted that the last time a team of Calvià local police officers participated in this paddle tennis competition was in 2016 and they returned to our municipality with two bronze medals, one from the women's competition and the other from the mixed competition.

Police officers, firefighters, safety officers, service people and members of other security forces compete against their colleagues in various tests between Friday 29th September and 8th October in a great fellowship atmosphere that helps participants interact with professional colleagues and, at the same time, demonstrate and maintain physical fitness. There is no age limit to participate in the European Police and Fire Games.
