Calvià will close the year with more than 500 consultancies and 44 new companies supported by the IFOC
The programmes are updated to continue the upward trend of the municipality's entrepreneurs
More than 500 companies and entrepreneurs have been advised and 44 new companies have been created in Calvià so far this year. This is the data released by the IFOC (Employment and Training Institute of Calvià) close to the year-end balance and which certifies the dynamism of the business sector in the municipality. But not only entrepreneurs have been advised, the meetings of the Digital Sales academy or the Reempresa programme, amongst others, have also been reinforced. Looking ahead to 2024, there is a commitment to expand the coworking space (there are currently 15 users) and strengthening collaboration between companies that use the IFOC.
The entity's manager, Fernando Palmer, has announced that the shared work space (coworking) is being configured as a “collaboratory, a collaboration laboratory. We ask participating companies to work between them, not just occupy a space. "They participate in training and information exchange sessions, and this helps them move new companies forward." Palmer assures that "at the Town Hall we are friendly to companies, it is our commitment, we believe in them. "We are committed to companies and workers to strengthen the fabric and economic activity that generates wealth in the municipality."
In 2023, the Business Creation and Consolidation Support Service has promoted the creation of 44 new companies, 509 consultancies have been carried out (business plan, marketing, financing...) and 380 queries have been answered. 147 people have participated in the Formación Empren programme for the initial business phase.
Work has also been done on generational change with the Reempresa plan. It is about putting entrepreneurs who cease their activity—generally due to retirement—in contact with others interested in acquiring and continuing with their business model.
