The awarding process for the 99 new VPOs developed by the Town Hall in Santa Ponça begins
Calvià Town Hall will approve on Thursday's Municipal Plenary Session the criteria for the awarding of the 99 rental-purchase VPOs that have been built in Santa Ponça.
The list of those registered in the IBAVI's Register of Subsidised Housing Applicants as subsidised housing applicants under a rent-purchase regime in Calvià will close on 1st December, so the award process will begin in the terms established in the current legislation.
It has been established that the procedure for allocating homes and attached parking spaces will be that of grading and awarding process based on a series of criteria. The requirements are, amongst others, being registered in Calvià and proof of minimum and maximum annual income from the cohabitation unit, as well as not being owner of any other home.
The development, which is located on Avinguda Miguel de Unamuno in Santa Ponça, has 5 one-bedroom, 60 two-bedroom, 30 three-bedroom and 4 four-bedroom homes. All homes have an associated parking space. Some of the one- and two-bedroom properties are adapted to accommodate people with reduced mobility, although only people who can prove the need to use a wheelchair can request an adapted one.
The homes and parking spaces will be subject to a lease contract with a purchase option for a maximum period of ten years. After the first two years of contract, the lessee may exercise, if he or she so wishes, the right to purchase option. The amounts paid in the rental installments as payment on account for the acquisition of the property will be deducted from the final amount to be paid.
In the event that the right to purchase option is not exercised after ten years of rental, the successful awardee will have to leave the home, leaving it at the disposal of the Town Hall.
