The archeological sites make up the largest number of catalogued elements. In this sense we can say that the municipal borough of Calvia counts on an extremely rich archelological heritage, both referring to the types of sites and their cronological classification and also of the materials that have been recovered from the different excavations carried out.
In some areas, such as Santa Ponça, the density and the importance of the sites enables us to identify an authentic fossil of prehistoric occupation. The fact has permitted the creation of an area of special architectural protection and the beginning of a project for the creation of an Archeological Park: The Archeological Park of Puig de Sa Morisca.
