Calvià Town Hall collaborates with Sociedad Civil Balear to promote the Mallorcan language and Hispanic heritage
Two events have been announced and work is being done on a collaboration agreement that could be extended to other entities
Calvià Town Hall, through the Culture department, has agreed to collaborate on two events before the end of this year with the Sociedad Civil Balear entity. These are free events - open to the public in municipal performing arts spaces - to promote Balearic culture and history and Hispanic heritage, which will be included in the cultural agenda.
For 2025, work is being done on a collaboration agreement between the consistory and Sociedad Civil Balear, as can be seen from a meeting held by the entity's president, Tomeu Berga, with officials from the Town Hall. It is also planned to extend these agreements to other entities defending the same principles. This was stated by the Deputy Mayor responsible for Culture, Manuel Mas.
On 14th November, the writer and disseminator Mateo Cañellas Taberner will give a talk entitled El expolio catalanista. On the other hand, the historian, writer, doctor in Medieval Literature and university professor Elvira Roca Barea will arrive in Calvià on 18th December. She will offer a review of the imperial phobia and the black legend themes of Spain that she has dealt with with great sales success in her latest books.
