Monday 29th November 2021

CALVIÀ AND ES CAPDELLÀ ARE NOW PART OF THE BETART ROUTE, CALVIÀ'S OPEN-AIR URBAN ART MUSEUM

The artistic interventions of Manolo Mesa, Sabek, Joan Cabrer, Goce y Kouba and Dafne Tree have finished in both villages

You can now see the works carried out for the Open-air Urban Art Museum in Calvià, BetArt de Calvià 2021, which in this edition have been carried out in Calvià and Es Capdellà.

BetArt is a call carried out jointly by the Calvià 2004 Foundation and the Calvià Town Hall to carry out urban artistic interventions with contextualised works in public areas. The intention is for it to be a kind of museum for use and enjoyment by residents and visitors of the municipality of Calvià, so that squares and streets become a more attractive space to walk around and that the artistic projects that are carried out bring urban art closer to citizens in a more day-to-day environment than the one traditionally known, without doors or schedules.

This year, five artists with international recognition have carried out the interventions: Manolo Mesa, Sabek, Joan Cabrer, César Goce and Pedro Kouba and Dafne Tree, under the curatorship of Street Art Project, an entity known for managing and promoting urban art projects and activities such as 'Pinta Malasaña' or the C.A.L.L.E. festival in Lavapiés (Madrid).

BetArt Calvià began in 2012 as an artistic experimental laboratory and 5 routes have already been carried out, with the one carried out this year: the first in Palmanova, Son Caliu and Magaluf; the second in Galatzó and Santa Ponça; the third in Peguera, and the fourth in Cas Català, Illetes, Bendinat, Portals and Costa d'en Blanes.
