THE TIB FLEET GAS STATION IN CALVIÀ OPENS TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC
It is a compressed natural gas station that allows refueling private vehicles
The regional minister for Mobility and Housing, Josep Marí, accompanied by the mayor of Calvià, Alfonso Rodríguez; the general director of Mobility and Land Transport, Jaume Mateu and the managing director of the Mallorca Transport Consortium, Maarten Johannes van Bemmelen, have inaugurated the opening to the public of the TENSO bus fleet gas station in Calvià. The visit was also attended by the CEO of Moventia and vice president of Moventis, Josep Maria Martí, and other representatives of the company that manage the gas station, as well as the new concession for interurban public transport in the western area since the beginning of the year.
The gas station, located in the TIB's garage in the Son Bugadelles industrial estate, has been supplying compressed natural gas (CNG) fuel to the Moventis 50 TIB buses fleet since January. Starting today, it will also be open to the public, thus allowing to provide CNG to private cars, trucks, coaches and vans.
The mayor of Calvià thanked the regional ministry for its impulse and sensitivity to public transport in Calvià. With the gas station opening to the public, he said, another step is taken to reduce the environmental impact, highlighting the commitment of the Moventis company to facilitate the public use of this infrastructure. For his part, the regional minister for Mobility and Housing said that: "we are very happy to be able to bring this infrastructure close the entire population. It is necessary to continue making progress in the energy transition and this is one more step".
It is a fast-loading compressed natural gas station and has two supply lanes with NGV 1 and NGV2 dispensers. It is a self-service point and payment is by bank card. The opening hours to the public are from Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
