Calvią at the London tourist fair

CALVIÀ AT THE LONDON TOURIST FAIR

Calvià is at the World Travel Market in London holding meetings with operators and interviews with specialised media, giving a boost to sports tourism, which in 2019 meant an economic impact of about 25 million euros for Calvià, and attracting the attention of a British market segment aimed mainly at family and adult tourism.

Yesterday and today, the Calvià delegation, headed by the mayor Alfonso Rodríguez Badal, together with the general director of Tourism and Coastline, Xavier Pascuet, is holding meetings at three levels: with operators working with a very defined public aimed at family tourism; with tourism-specialised media, and institutions to reinforce the repositioning of the destination. There have been meetings with Charitable Travel, Family Travel, Jewish Telegraph, Silver Traveller, and with representatives of Advantage Travel Partnership, amongst others.

The objective of these meetings is to link great products, such as sporting events or training camps, in the mid/low season with publications aimed at a specific and professional audience. A meeting was also held today with Jet2, to work co-marketing initiatives in the mid/low season to gain visibility in the field of tennis and golf.

At the most institutional level, the mayor and the general director of Tourism met this morning with the director of the Turespaña office in London, Manuel Butler, with whom coordination work is being carried out to support promotional actions that reinforce the repositioning of the destination.
