The homes will be built on a municipal plot located in Santa Ponça, at 11 Miguel de Unamuno St. A total of 50 of the VPOs will be for sale, 39 for rent and 10 for rent with purchase option. The construction of the VPOs, which are put out to tender for 14.328.218,68 euros, is expected to take place in 26 months from the end of the tender, which began last day 3 and is open until December 30th for the presentation of offers.

The mayor of Calvià, Alfonso Rodríguez Badal, highlights that this development that is launched through the Department of Housing, will be totally financed the Town Hall. And recalls that they join the VPOs that are already being built in Magaluf in collaboration, 50%, with the Government of the Balearic Islands, in the clear commitment that is being made for public housing.

The houses to be built in Santa Ponça will have to respect all environmental, energy efficiency and accessibility measures.

In the call, it is specified that the gender perspective will be valued as well as the adaptation after the experience lived during the pandemic, that is, it will be valued that they are very bright flats, with high ceilings and large terraces. In the community area there will be two landscaped areas with one of them for the children to play.

The project will also have 1,200 m² of parking with pre-installation of charging points for electric cars in at least 25% of the spaces. It will also have the installation of an area of approximately 1,260 m² of photovoltaic solar panels, for self-consumption, in order to produce the maximum possible energy savings for users.

Calvià is the first municipality that, since 2002, finances a hundred percent a social housing development.
